A Book Open to the World

49,00

“A Book Open to the World” is a book for children published by the Emigration Museum in Gdynia which presents a look at the history of Poland, and Polish men and women in particular, from a non-obvious perspective. It is a cross-sectional story about the past and the present, of which mobility and displacement are constant themes. The authors of the study are Katarzyna Witt, Anna Posłuszna and the graphic design and illustrations are by Dawid Ryski. In 2018, the work was presented with an honorary award at the Warsaw Book Fair with an honorary award in the competition of the Polskie Towarzystwo Wydawców Książek (Polish Society of Book Publishers) and won the Polish History Museum’s competition for the 2018 event of the year in the category “Education and multimedia”.

Not only is it a beautifully produced book about emigration, and the fact that the whole world is in constant motion – and we are part of that process, but there are also plenty of surprises – scratch and colouring activities, hiding places – that will make for lots of fun.
